The Book Thief (2013)

Percival this film based on the novel of the same name stars Sophie
Nelisse, Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, Ben Schnetzer and Nico Liersch.
Germany 1938, a girl is adopted by a poor couple and they struggle to
live through WW2.
While this is a really
well made and told story I am not sure it ever has anything
interesting or new to say. There is plenty of realism and the story
captures life in Germany during the war well but as much as I enjoyed
the film I felt like it was a little empty or too easy. I really
liked the cast and there are some good performances but again nothing
much stood out.
