McLaglen this sequel to Cross of Iron (1977) stars Richard Burton,
Robert Mitchum, Rod Steiger and Curd Jurgens. A German sergeant and
his unit are transferred to France ahead of the allied invasion.
Despite having a solid
cast this is a low quality sequel that wants to trade on star power
alone. The plot is some fairly basic stuff that involves the July 7th
plot and the clash between average soldiers and fanatics in the
German army. Production value is pretty low here and it is hard to
find much to recommend this film on.
