Jennifer 8 (1992)
Written and directed
by Bruce Robinson this thriller stars Andy Garcia, Uma Thurman and
Lance Henriksen. A big city cop moves out to the country and becomes
obsessed with reopening old cases to hunt a serial killer.
At the time this film
was largely seen as unsuccessful at the box office but is pretty much
a run of the mill thriller. The plot manages not to get too gimmicky
which is often the case in serial killer films from the 90s but
otherwise there is not much to help it stand out from a number of
similar films. Uma Thurman's performance as a blind girl is probably
the best thing in the film but her part is sadly little more than the
helpless girl that needs saving.
