Hidden views of Harlem

In the Street (1928)

Directed by James Agee, Helen Levitt and Janice Loeb this is a short documentary. We see street life in Spanish Harlem in the 1940s.

No doubt this is interesting as a historical record, both for capturing people's daily lives but also as an early use of hidden cameras. As a piece of entertainment this is not exactly the most riveting piece you will ever see but it is still watchable. Of the day in the life or city films I've seen this isn't the best but it is still a solid genre entry.
