by Bob Nelson this film stars Clive Owen, Jaeden Lieberher, Maria
Bello and Robert Forster. A boy spends his weekend with his alcoholic
father hunting for his father's stolen tools.
Taking the basic
premise of Bicycle Thieves (1948) and transplanting it to a modern
setting is not the worst idea ever but this film comes off as
inferior in nearly every regard. Despite the decent cast this is not
a great film that is a bit too obvious in it's ideas. Maybe if this
film didn't exist in the shadow of a much superior one it would have
a better time but in the end it's pretty weak.
