The Girl with All the
Gifts (2016)

McCarthy this film based on the novel of the same name stars Sennia
Nanua, Gemma Arterton, Paddy Considine and Glenn Close. Following a
fungus based zombie apocalypse at an army base in England experiments
are run on children that are human-zombie hybrids.
In a crowded genre it
is nice to see this film bringing something slightly different to the
plate although it does explore the common sci-fi theme of
generational conflict. I enjoyed the film and the story works well,
teasing out a creepy scenario into something a bit deeper. There are
decent performances from the cast and for the low budget the film
looks really good.
