Nostalghia (1983)

Tarkovsky this film stars Oleg Yankovsky, Domiziana Giordano and
Erland Josephson. A Russian writer in Italy researching the life of
Pavel Sosnovsky becomes intrigued by a local man who seems to be
mentally ill.
Beautifully shot and
with some lovely locations this film is a feast for the eyes.
Unfortunately I found the plot to be incredibly slow and somewhat
impenetrable. While I could enjoy the look of the film the content
eluded me.
