Harlin this sequel stars Bruce Willis, Bonnie Bedelia, William Sadler
and Art Evans. It's another bad festive season for John McClane as he
tries to pick up his wife from the airport during a terrorist attack.
After the success of
the first film a sequel was a no brainer and this film does a good
job of staying faithful to the characters without trying to just
recreate the events of the previous film. The story is inspired by
the novel “58 minutes” and some of the characters by real events
involving CIA meddling in South America, all of which provides a
decent basis for the film. What the film does best is go above and
beyond the original with some excellent action sequences that really
make the best use of the airport setting.
