The Last Days of
Pompeii (1908)

Ambrosio and Luigi Maggi this film is loosely based on the novel of
the same name. True love struggles to run it's course and then a city
gets engulfed in ash.
The plot of this film
is not overly interesting and very much a whistle stop tour of it's
source material. I was also disappointed that the destruction of the
city seemed to be a bit of an after thought for the film makers. Well
made for the period but not overly remarkable.
