Lines: Vertical (1960)
Directed by Norman
McLaren and Evelyn Lambert this is a short film set to the music of
Maurice Blackburn. Vertical lines move from side to side in time with
the music.
Having already seen
Lines: Horizontal (1962) first I guess you could say this film was
some what spoiled for me by already having seen it's sequel. The
difference between the two films is 90 degrees of rotation but again
this is a fairly entertaining watch thanks to the skill of the
animation. Maybe the music and animation do not fit perfectly, as
with the sequel but they do go together decently.
