It's good to have someone to blame

The Sessions (2012)

Directed by Ben Lewin this film based on real events stars John Hawkes, Helen Hunt, William H. Macy and Moon Bloodgood. A man paralyzed from the neck down due to polio seeks the services of a sex surrogate to lose his virginity.

Largely this film handles it's subject matter with respect and good humour, being more funny than you would expect. In general the plot is pretty light hearted and of a feel good nature, the story really lacks any counter points of view to make this a more rounded film. There are good performances from Hawkes and Hunt which help carry the film.

3/5
