The Legend of Tarzan

Yates this film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Margot Robbie, Samuel L.
Jackson and Christoph Waltz. Our hero and his wife travel back to
Africa with an American diplomat to investigate the Belgian king's
exploitation of the Congo Basin.
While this film does
attempt to acknowledge the major problems of racism and sexism
surrounding the character as well as colonialism in general it never
seems to go far enough in moving past these. Inevitably this was
going to be something of a minefield to enter and the generic plot
does not have much going for it. Most of the action sequences are
good but the CGI does occasionally raise an eyebrow.
