Paris, Texas (1984)
Directed by Wim wnders this film stars Harry Dean Stanton, Dean Stockwell, Aurore Clement and Nastassja Kinski. After being missing for four years a man reappears out of the desert and starts to pick up the pieces of his life.
You have to wait for it till right near the end but Nastassja Kinski's heart breaking performance is what makes this film in my opinion. Sure this is a good modern Searchers, exploring ideas of identity however it is just a bit too distant till we finally meet Kinski's character. Well worth seeking out even if some might find it a bit “arty”.
