Dragoons Crossing the Saone (1896)
Directed by Auguste & Louis Lumiere this is an early short film. Men on horses cross a deep river.
There is nothing really to mark out the men here as dragoons rather than just horse riders which is a bit of a let down. The film stops before we see anyone get to the other side, possibly the first cliff hanger in cinema. Not the greatest unless you are big on seeing horses swim.
