A Ciambra (2017)
Written & directed
by Jonas Carpignano this film stars Pio Amato, Koudous Seihon and
Damiano Amato. A fourteen year old boy living in a Romani community
in Southern Italy wants to be a criminal like his older brother.
A coming of age set in
one of the marginalised communities in Italy this is an interesting
watch. As with many films in the genre there is not a lot new to it
but it is well made and somewhat universal in it's story. I enjoyed
the film but it was a little on the long side in my opinion.
