Manhatta (1921)

Sheeler and Paul Strand this documentary has intertitles containing
the writings of Walt Whitman. We see Manhattan in a selection of
different shots.
Very much in the genre
of the early city documentaries this is a good look at Manhattan of
the period. The film captures daily life and is certainly a love
letter to it's setting. Enjoyable to watch it is easy to see why this
has been preserved as a historical record.
