Loving (2016)

by Jeff Nichols this film based on a true story stars Joel Edgerton
and Ruth Negga. A couple living in Virginia in 1958 fall foul of the
State's anti-miscegenation laws when they marry.
Unlike many civil
rights stories this film focuses much more on the personal and family
life rather than being a court room drama. I enjoyed the personal
touch of this film and it tells a much more intimate story than some
of it's peers. The performances are good and the direction low key,
which lets the story unfold naturally.
