The Dressmaker (2015)

Moorhouse this film based on the novel of the same name stars Kate
Winslet, Judy Davis, Liam Hemsworth and Hugo Weaving. A stylish
dressmaker returns from working in Paris to the small outback town
she grew up in.
Something never really
sits right about this mix of quirky Australian comedy and really dark
tale of small town prejudice. The shifting tones seem to trivialise
at times what is some really heavy subject matter. Thanks to the
great cast the film is enjoyable but it is a bit of a let down.
