The Sweeney (2012)

this film based on the television series of the same name stars Ray
Winstone, Ben Drew, Hayley Atwell and Damian Lewis. A group of thugs
work in a police unit specializing in armed crime.
This is an attempt to
put an American style action film in a British police setting and as
Hot Fuzz (2007) showed this is completely ridiculous. There is not
much of a plot and any thought of the characters having a moral
compass is well out the window. Given all the talent involved this is
a really disappointing film but most disappointing of all is Hayley
Atwell getting stuck with a role that is there just to show some skin
and motivate the men.
