Seven Psychopaths
(2012)
Written and directed
by Martin McDonagh this film stars Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, Woody
Harrelson and Christopher Walken. A struggling screen writer attempts
to write a screen play about seven psychopaths but is distracted by
his dog kidnapping friends.
This is a bizarre, off
beat comedy that plays with it's audience in some really fun ways.
While the observations on cinema are not especially deep or
surprising there is more than enough character and charm to carry
this film. Having a great cast certainly helps but it is the writing
that is most impressive as it pulls off walking a dangerous, self
aware tone.
