Dealing with culture
clashes can be a delicate subject and unfortunately this film goes
for the superficial rather than anything serious. It is problematic
to have a film about arranged marriage without looking at the implied
darker side and instead focusing on simplistic moralising about the
supposed superiority of Western ideas of love over Eastern. The cast
are pretty much all unknowns who do the best they can with a weak and
predictable script.
