Valhalla Rising (2009)

Winding Refn this film stars Mads Mikkelsen, Alexander Morton, Ewan
Stewart and Gary Lewis. In 1000 AD a one eyed Norse warrior escapes
from men holding him captive and joins a band of Christian warriors.
With some great
photography and minimal dialogue this film creates a really haunting
view of old world suspicions and mysterious landscapes. Sometimes the
lack of dialogue does make the plot feel a little sparse but the
ambiguity it creates really helps create a sense of unknown. Scotland
provides a great backdrop and nearly all the scenes are excellently
shot.
