Resident Evil:
Retribution (2012)
Written and directed
by Paul W. S. Anderson this 5th instalment the franchise
stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Li Bingbing and Sienna
Guillory. Accompanied by another band of cannon fodder allies Alice
takes on Umbrella Corp. and the mutated undead again.
Neither the plot of
the previous films or the paper thin plot of this film really matter,
essentially Alice runs around killing stuff and that is all that you
would expect anyway. There is very little in the way of character
development and unless you are a fan of the series you might not pick
up all the details or cameos but that does not really add or detract
from the film. What saves the film is that most of the action
sequences are pretty impressive and the film manages to include a
decent amount of locations/sets that are really interesting.
