Albatross (2011)

MacCormick this British film stars Jessica Brown Findlay, Sebastian
Koch, Julia Ormond and Felicity Jones. A 17 year old girl that
aspires to be a writer upsets the balance of a dysfunctional family
when she starts working for them
This is a fairly
standard coming of age tale set which offers few surprises for those
that have even a passing familiarity with the genre. Despite being
set in the South of England in a sea side town the film was shot in
the Isle of Man and this does stick out slightly for those that know
the geography but does not get in the way of the film. There are some
decent performances from the cast but the plot never really goes
anywhere special.
