The first of many

Annabelle Serpentine Dance (1895)

Directed by William K. L, Dickson and William Heise this film stars Annabelle Moore. A woman performs the serpentine dance.

Like many similar shorts from early cinema this is just a simple recording of a woman doing the serpentine dance. Where this film may cut itself apart from the many similar is being the first and having some lovely hand painted colour tinting. The way the woman's dress changes colour is pretty cool.
