The Forgotten Kingdom

Written & directed
by Andrew Mudge this film stars Zezno Ngqobe, Nozipho Nkelemba and
Lebohang Ntsane. A young man living in Johannesburg collects his
fathers body from a township and takes him back to Lesotho to be
buried.
I really enjoyed this
African film which takes in the conflict between modern and
historical Africa. Mixing the present with a heroes quest reminiscent
of Yeelen (1987) the film shows how young Africans are caught between
past and present as well as the restrictions both place on them.
There is some stunning landscape as well which adds some scope to the
film.
