Goliyon Ki Raasleela

Leela Bhansali this film stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. A
man and woman fall in love but their relationship is hampered by the
fact they come from rival crime families that divide a small Indian
town.
This is Romeo and
Juliet filtered through Baz Luhrmann by way of Bollywood with a final
third that is more like The Godfather (1972). As a straight up
adaptation of Romeo and Juliet the plot wandered too much for my
taste but was still entertaining through out. The protagonists are a
little old to really capture Shakespeare's tale of teenage obsession
but the colour and pageantry of the film are worth seeing.
