Nature Calls (2012)
Written and directed
by Todd Rohal this film stars Patton Oswalt, Johnny Knoxville, Rob
Riggle, Maura Tierney and Patrice O'Neal. With his boy scout troop on
the verge of disbanding a scout master takes some kids away to the
woods.
There is plenty of
promise in the premise of this film but adult comedy tone is
completely out of whack with what should have been nostalgic look at
childhood in the outdoors compared to modern parenting. It seems that
there are at least a few scenes missing because Knoxville's
antagonist goes completely unexplained as does why a normal person
would be marred to such a horrid person. Ultimately I am left
wondering why anyone thought this was a good idea and it surprises me
something so bad got made.
