After Earth (2013)

Shyamalan this film stars Will Smith and Jaden Smith. One thousand
years after man kind left Earth a father and son are the only
survivors of a space ship that crashes there.
Essentially this is a
pretty simple coming of age story with some father/son stuff mixed in
but the problem is that it seems like nearly every element of the
film is a token effort from those involved. The story never really
engages with the world it is set in or the central father/son
relationship with any depth. Will Smith is pretty much wasted in a
role that negates all the charisma he can bring to a film.
