Falling Down (1993)

Schumacher this film stars Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall. A
middle aged man has a mental breakdown and goes on a rampage while a
policeman works his last day before retirement.
At the time this film
came out there was some controversy over whether the film glorified
violence but it is clearly about a man that has completely lost his
way in life rather than promoting going around committing crimes.
Michael Douglas gives a good performance as the protagonist and
Robert Duvall provides a positive counter point. There are some nice
directorial touches at the start of the film but the direction does
become more average as the film goes on.
