Pom Poko (1994)

Takahata this animated film has English voice acting from Maurice
LaMarche, Jonathan Taylor Thomas and J. K. Simmons. Raccoons in Japan
resort to using magical transformation techniques to try and protect
the wood they live in from urban growth.
While there is plenty
of fun to be had here I found this film to be lacking a little
subtlety at times and somewhat on the long side. There are some funny
moments along the way but nothing particularly unique or
sophisticated about the pro environment message. The animation and
voice acting are decent but not stand out.
