The Eight Hundred (2020)
Directed by Guan Hu this film based on real events stars Huang Zhizhong, Zhang Junyi, Oho Ou and Du Chun. Chinese soldiers trapped in a warehouse defend it against Japanese invaders as their own people and the world watch on.
Clearly this is a propaganda piece however it is interesting to see the communist regime praise nationalist fighters. The film is a bit long and at times melodramatic as well as probably straying from history. There is something to be said for exploring the idea of how war is fought these days under such close observation.
