Griffith this film stars Wilfred Lucas, Dell Henderson and Clarie
McDowell. A Confederate officer goes off to war leaving his wife and
child in the care of his black “servant”.
Oh boy. So to start
with this film has blackface and a woeful understanding of race
relations of the period it depicts. I think it's probably impossible
to find anything to salvage this early short film. There is no real
reason to recommend this film on any level.
