Ender's Game (2013)
Directed by Gavin Hood
this film based on the novel of the same name stars Asa Butterfield,
Harrison Ford, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis and Ben Kingsley. In the
future after Earth has barely survived an alien invasion a young boy
is trained as part of an advanced military program.
While this is a fun
watch and contains some interesting material unfortunately this
appears to be a much streamlined version of it's source material.
This is one of those films that would probably have benefited from
being an hour longer as the sequence of events seems just too rushed
at times. I did enjoy the performances, the special effects and the
moral exploration but the film required a bit more to be really good.
