Madeline (1952)
Directed by Robert
Cannon this cartoon is based on the book of the same name by Ludwig
Bemelmans. Twelve girls live in a Catholic boarding school in Paris
but one of their number gets appendicitis.
Taking a simple story
this is a good adaptation that fits well with the style of UPA's
other cartoon. While the plot might be simple and not as funny as
some of the other cartoons by UPA it is still entertaining. The
animation style is decent as is the narration.
3/5
