Magic Roses (1906)
Directed by Segundo de
Chomon this film is an early short film in colour. A magician uses a
bouquet of roses to perform some magic tricks.
This is a pretty good
but simple use of early trick photography to create a film in the
style of Melies. Being tinted with colour adds to the visual of the
film but the content is not overly impressive. While I enjoyed this
film the tricks are just a little too easy to pick out.
