Lacks care

Foster (2012)

Written and directed by Jonathan Newman this film stars Toni Collette, Ioan Gruffudd, Maurice Cole and Richard E. Grant. A couple that are unable to conceive end up fostering a precocious seven year old.

This is one of those films that does know what it wants to be, it is too simplistic to be a film for adults and focuses on the adult characters too much to be a film for children. The plot is pretty cliché and wanders down a fairly predictable path of easy feel good nonsense. While there is not a lot to work with from the script I was not especially impressed by the performances of the cast either.

2/5
