Harryhausen's horrors

The 7^th Voyage of Sinbad (1958)

Directed by Nathan H. Juran this film stars Kerwin Mathews, Torin Thatcher and Kathryn Grant. After falling foul of an evil wizard our hero has to sail to a dangerous island to get his bride to be restored to her normal size.

While the film is inspired by the classic Arabian character the story does not stick to any of the old tales and the film rarely features any Arab actors. The plot is pretty thin and is little more than an adventure story. Where the film does well is the classic Ray Harryhausen's special effects that actually hold up surprisingly well for the age of the film.
