Mother! (2017)
Written & directed
by Darren Aronofsky this film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem,
Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer. A woman suffers the true horror of
an increasing number of strangers entering the house she is trying to
renovate for her poet husband.
Starting out seemingly
a tale of domestic realism this film descends into to dream like
religious allegory which will not be to the taste of everyone. I
found this film to be enjoyable if a little frustrating, I'm not sure
there is an ultimate point but it is still an interesting watch.
There are decent performances from the cast and as always Aronofsky
delivers more than the usual Hollywood fare.
