Sanders this film based on the manga of the same name stars Scarlett
Johansson, “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, Pilou Asbaek, Michael Carmen
Pitt and Juliette Binoche. In the future a government operative is
the first human brain in a completely cybernetic body.
Taking a classic
sci-fi plot from the original source material this is a fairly
faithful adaptation that while good never quite connects on the
emotional level the 1995 adaptation does. Visually the film is very
impressive but there is always a nagging doubt that this was an
unneeded remake. Generally this is a really well made film that falls
just short despite it's ambitious efforts.
