by Shamin Sarif this film based on a novel by Sarif stars Rebecca
Ferguson, Charles Dance, Sam Reid and Oliver Jackson. The niece of a
man who defected from the Soviet Union during the cold war returns to
Russia in 1992 to out what happened to her missing aunt.
At times this film
threatens to go somewhere interesting but always ends up
disappointing. In my opinion the short run time means the characters
are never fully explored and there are too many contradictions in the
plot. The cast do their best but this project was made from a flawed,
predicatble script.
