Directed by Kevin Willmott this film inspired by real events stars Trai Byers, Aja Naomi King and Mykelti Williamson. An African-American regiment is sent to segregated Huston in 1917.

I think the Houston Riot of 1917 is a fascinating part of American history and I would much rather have seen the real version of what happened rather than the inspired by version. The film does a decent job of showing what happened but gets a little too tied to individuals. A decent watch none the less and an important reminder of the parts of American history some would forget.
