The Nose (1963)
Directed by Alexander
Alexeieff and Claire Parker this animated short is based on the story
of the same name by Nikola Gogol. Cutting open a loaf of bread a man
finds a nose in it.
Bizarre to say the
least this is a strange little film that maybe does not adapt
perfectly without knowing the source material but is still an
entertaining watch. Some of the source material may have been lost in
adaptation but there is still enough surreal imagery to keep you
watching. The animation style is good and clearly takes skill but is
not ground breaking.
