The Ragtime Bear (1949)
Directed by John
Hubley this cartoon is the first appearance of the character “Mr.
Magoo”. An old man with sight problems has the classic problem of
mistaking a bear for his banjo playing nephew.
Taking a simple
situation and making it silly this is a fairly decent cartoon with
some chuckles a long the way. Not as funny or surreal as some of it's
competition involving better known studios this is still a decent
watch. The animation is a crisp and clear style.
