RoboCop (2014)

Directed by Jose Padilha this reboot stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton and Abbie Cornish. In the near future a police officer dying after a bomb attack is used in an experiment to create the first cyborg police officer.

Unfortunately this remake ends up much like it's protagonist with it's personality turned down to almost non existent levels. Never getting to grips with the thematic or sci-fi content the script also fails to connect on an emotional level with the characters. There are plenty of nice set pieces and action but the film never threatens to build on all it's parts and become the film it should be.
