Madden this sequel stars Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Maggie Smith, Dev
Patel and Richard Gere. On the eve of his wedding the young Indian
hotel owner looks to expand his empire by acquiring a second hotel.
Much like it's
characters the plot of this film shuffles through some tired old
cliches and never offers to be anything original. At times Dev
Patel's character starts to get a little too close to becoming a
racial caricature for my taste but I suppose there is still a modicum
of charm in the characters. I suppose at least the film does not just
retread the plot of the original with another set of characters which
is something.
